My name is Jay Gruending, and I’m proud to be the owner and operator of Alantra Construction, serving Maple Ridge, Mission, and the Fraser Valley.
My journey in the construction industry began in Calgary in 2004, where I honed my skills framing homes until 2008. Seeking new opportunities, I moved to Fort McMurray and spent three rewarding years framing townhomes and multi-family projects. In pursuit of further growth, I relocated to Vancouver and transitioned into home renovations, where I discovered my true passion: transforming houses into functional, stylish living spaces that support and nurture family life.
I was fortunate to contribute to the TV show Love It or List It Vancouver, an experience that helped refine my expertise in custom home transformations and reinforced my belief in the power of skilled craftsmanship and innovative design. Driven by a passion for creating homes that reflect each family's unique needs, I founded Alantra Construction — specializing in kitchen renovations, bathroom remodels, basement finishing, home additions, and full home remodeling projects.
Recently, I completed my Residential Builder License coursework, further strengthening my commitment to delivering high-quality construction and exceptional customer service. At Alantra Construction, I pour my heart into every project, ensuring each home reflects the lifestyle, vision, and needs of its owners — while enhancing both functionality and property value.
When I'm not immersed in construction, I cherish time with my two sons — coaching their sports teams, fishing, and building family memories.
